Students and staff at Toll Gate High School are celebrating remarkable achievements on this year’s Advanced Placement (AP) exams. The 2025 results mark the highest success rate in the past five years, with 78% of AP students earning scores of 3 or higher—a significant increase from 47% in 2021.
Earning a score of 3 or higher on an AP exam indicates that a student has mastered college-level material while still in high school. Many colleges and universities award credit or advanced placement for these scores, which can save students time and money by allowing them to skip introductory courses. Beyond the credit, achieving a 3 or higher also demonstrates perseverance, critical thinking, and readiness for future academic challenges—skills that benefit students well beyond the classroom.
Over the past five years, Toll Gate has seen an increase in the number of students challenging themselves with college-level coursework. In 2025, students took 243 exams, up from 211 in 2021. AP teachers and students have worked together to raise the bar, and their hard work has paid off. Some of the top results this year include:
2D Art & Design/Drawing – 100% pass rate
English Language & Composition – 97% pass rate
English Literature & Composition – 95% pass rate
Precalculus – 95% pass rate
Psychology – 88% pass rate
U.S. History – 83% pass rate
Other strong results were achieved in Environmental Science (81%), Macroeconomics (79%), U.S. Government & Politics (69%), Physics 1 (60%), and Computer Science A (60%).
These accomplishments reflect the dedication of students who have embraced rigorous coursework and the support of teachers who guide them to success. The AP program continues to prepare Toll Gate students for college and beyond, and 2025 stands as a milestone year of growth and achievement.
